July Wrap Up!

Just like last month – I got through 8 books this July, some better than others! Top Pick this month is a joint win (I know, I know … but I just can’t pick!) … drum roll … Riley Sager’s Lock Every Door AND Chandler Baker’s Whisper Network!

We don’t remember what we want to remember. We remember what we can’t forget. Lisa Taddeo -Three women

Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams

I enjoyed the story, and following Queenie on the quest to find love, happiness and success. Along the way there were many heart breaks, racism, body image and mental health struggles. I enjoyed some of the humour, but felt some was a bit too British! In 3 words: Thought Provoking, Complex and Funny!3/5. You can read an excerpt of the book here.

Child’s Play by Angela Marsons

One of my favourite detective series – This was such an addictive read and the Kim Stone fans won’t be disappointed!. 4 out of 5. Find my full thoughts here.

Ask again, yes by Mary Beth Keane

I thought the writing was fantastic, I quite liked the characters and found they had good depth to them. However, for me, the plot let this book down. 3/5. Click here to read my review.

Three Women by Lisa Taddeo

Heartbreak, pain and love wrapped up in these complex stories of the lives of three women; three very different stories to tell but yet something so similar in each of them. 3.5 out of 5. Click here to read my review.

The Girl in the Grave by Helen Phifer

I loved the characters, but did find that there were quite a few to remember and keep track of. The Girl in the Grave was fast paced, intense, and kept me gripped until the very last page. 4/5. Read my thoughts here.

Lock Every Door by Riley Sager

This book was a total page turner and I read it in a day. I just couldn’t put it down. U-N-P-R-E-D-I-C-T-A-B-L-E. It was my first read by Riley Sager, and I will definitely be going back for more – a.s.a.p. 4.5 out of 5. Click here to read my review.

Never Have I Ever by Joshilyn Jackson

A pretty amazing book and got better the more pages I turned. This is the perfect summer suspense/psychological thriller to add to your beach reads list!. 4/5. Read my thoughts here.

Whisper Network by Chandler Baker

My Final July read – and it really didn’t disappoint! In 3 words: Explosive, Brilliant and Relevant! 4.5 out of 5. Read my review here.

And that’s a wrap on July! A huge thank you to NetGalley, publishers and authors for my review copies of some of these books – this in no way influenced my reviews. If any of you have read these books and want to discuss further … ping me a note 🙂
